VISTA: VALUING INCARCERATED SCHOLARS THROUGH ACADEMIA
Branding
For this project I created a logo and additional collateral for the social cause program VISTA. VISTA is a degree program through SDSU that works with incarcerated individuals to obtain a B.A. through SDSU. VISTA emphasizes academic rigor and scholarship. The students in the program have a strong pride to be SDSU students and I wanted this pride to be understood through my logo. Additional collateral included a business cards, bookmark, pens, and folder.
PROCESS:
I referenced the unique architecture of SDSU as well as branding colors. I created the letterforms in VISTA to look like the archways that can be seen across campus. This also functioned to symbolize a look out, view, or vista. This further symbolizes the hopeful “view” scholars at VISTA have by taking the next steps to their education. I created additional collateral that adhered to brand colors, patterns, and typography. I also included an additional message of “futures with a VIEW” to further establish the hopeful future the scholars will obtain through VISTA.
